In Kabardino-Balkaria, a gang of women who sold residents of the republic into sex slavery was uncovered

In Kabardino-Balkaria, five members of a criminal group that involved women in prostitution were detained. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the FSB. Another suspect was put on the international wanted list.

According to the investigation, from 2010 to 2019, the suspects got acquainted with the residents of Kabardino-Balkaria and persuaded them to go to work abroad, where they involved them in prostitution. “Upon arrival, the victims were forced, including under the threat of violence, to have sexual intercourse, held against their will, preventing them from returning to the Russian Federation, the monetary reward received by the victims was appropriated and distributed among members of an organized criminal group,” the FSB said in a statement. Among the victims were minors.

Criminal cases have been initiated under the articles “Organization of prostitution”, “Involvement in prostitution” and “Human trafficking”.
