The Russian court received the first criminal case against the military Armed Forces of Ukraine on “violence against civilians”

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don received a case against a Ukrainian military man accused of "forcibly seizing power and mistreating civilians." It is reported by TASS with reference to the court. This is the first case in Russia regarding the activities of the military Armed Forces of Ukraine during a full-scale war.

According to TASS, the military man in question is named Anton Cherednik. He is accused under the articles “cruel treatment of the civilian population, the use of prohibited means and methods in an armed conflict” (part 1 of article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), “forcible seizure of power” (article 278), “training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities » (Art. 205.3). The court said that Cherednik's case would be sent for consideration under the general procedure "in the near future."

According to the Investigative Committee, on March 27, Cherednik killed a man from the village of Mirnoye (Mariupol) because he mispronounced a word in Ukrainian. The Russian investigation claims that during the murder, his acquaintance was next to him, but the military killed only one of them.

TASS emphasizes that at the same time, the court is considering the case of a member of the 240th separate assault battalion "Aidar" Denis Muryga. He is accused of “participation in an armed formation, not provided for by federal law, for purposes contrary to the interests of Russia” (Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and “undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities” (Article 205.3).
