RIA "Novosti" in the material under the heading "The United States told what Ukraine has become after the 2014 coup" reports :
“After the 2014 coup d'état, Ukraine became a puppet of the United States,” Jeffrey Young, an American Democratic politician and candidate for Kentucky governor, said on Twitter.
“The US-sponsored coup in 2014 turned Ukraine into a puppet of Washington, completely controlled by the State Department, the CIA, the Pentagon, NATO and groups of heavily armed Ukrainian Nazis,” he wrote.
Apparently, RIA was embarrassed to fully quote Jeff Young's tweet, but he wrote this:
“I have been saying for several months that the government of Ukraine is a puppet of the United States, as well as the most powerful and largest Nazi country in the modern world.
Labor camps for subhumans – ethnic Russians ("Asians") – on their own territory.
This territory will not be Ukrainian for long.”
Even semi-official Kremlin propaganda did not think of camps for ethnic Russians in Ukraine. Unless in 2020, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, in an article under the heading “A law on the creation of concentration camps is being prepared in Ukraine,” was indignant :
“A draft law has been submitted for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which allows internment, that is, forcibly detaining, resettling and otherwise restricting the freedom of movement of Russian citizens. The definition of "interned persons" refers to the darkest pages of European history and gives an understanding of what fate official Kiev is preparing for the citizens of Russia, and more broadly – all Russian people, as part of plans for the "reintegration of Crimea and Donbass."
Law N4327 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine regarding the regulation of issues related to prisoners of war and internees in a special period” was announced by the government last week and has already been published on the website of the Ukrainian parliament. The document provides for “the identification on the territory of Ukraine of citizens of a state threatening an attack or carrying out aggression, who pose a threat to national security in connection with such an attack or aggression”, and the subsequent informing of the General Staff of the Ukrainian army about such people “to resolve the issue of internment, taking into account real and potential military threats to national security”. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will have to deal directly with the eviction, and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) will have to identify unreliable people. In other words, we are talking about raids, arrests, evictions and pogroms.
The law should come into force in a certain "special period", by which legislators obviously understand the hot phase of the civil conflict in Ukraine. And since Russia is officially called the “aggressor state” in Ukraine, the bill applies to all residents of Crimea and the people’s republics of Donbass (DPR and LPR) who have Russian passports. The ornate wording of the bill and the references of the authors to the Geneva Convention should not be misleading: in practice, “internment” means forced eviction and the creation of camps for “internees,” that is, concentration camps.”
However, the story of the bill on the internment of citizens of the aggressor state did not continue. The draft was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, in February 2021 received a critical review from the budget committee on the grounds that it does not contain proposals to reduce budget expenditures or sources of additional funding, and has not been considered since. But Jeff Young may have since believed that internment camps already exist, and that they get there not on the basis of citizenship, but on the basis of ethnicity.
Jeff Young is indeed a candidate for governor of Kentucky, but rather peculiar. On Twitter, he writes about himself:
"I am a progressive peace-loving Democrat running for Governor of Kentucky against incumbent Governor Andy Beshear (Democrat and felon who has not yet been charged) in 2023."
Members of the extreme left wing of the Democratic Party call themselves progressive. This is not the first time Young has participated in the elections, but he has never been elected anywhere. His biggest success was winning the Democratic primary ahead of the 2022 House of Representatives election. Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear then refused to support Young, who became the Democratic nominee; Young lost the election by a wide margin to Republican Andy Barr, whom he criticized for "supporting the Ukrainian Nazis." The Committee of the Democratic Party of Kentucky during that campaign made the following statement:
"The party cannot actively support a candidate who has been involved in countless baseless lawsuits against the party, its officials and virtually every elected official over the past decade."
In January 2023, Young accused President Biden of war crimes in Ukraine and demanded his impeachment for waging an illegal hybrid war against Russia in a former Soviet republic.
