The Verkhovna Rada imposed sanctions for 50 years against all Russian banks and payment systems

The Ukrainian Parliament voted on February 23 to impose sanctions for a period of 50 years on all Russian financial institutions, including the Central Bank, commercial banks and payment system operators. Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced this on his Telegram channel.

“The parliament supported the presidential decree on the application of economic sanctions against financial institutions of the Russian Federation,” Zheleznyak wrote , adding that 325 deputies voted for the initiative.

On February 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on sanctions against Russian banks. Among the restrictions were the suspension of transactions with assets of financial institutions of the Russian Federation, a ban on establishing business relations with Russian financial institutions, a ban on the purchase of securities issued by financial institutions of the Russian Federation, and others.

In mid-January, Zelensky enforced NSDC sanctions against nearly 200 Russian citizens. Celebrities, cultural figures, military correspondents and journalists were included in the sanctions list.

Sanctions have been imposed against TV presenter Angelina Vovk, sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev, blogger Dmitry "Goblin" Puchkov.

Also on the Ukrainian sanctions list were singer Yuri Loza, actors Yegor Beroev and Evelina Bledans, director Andrey Konchalovsky, television presenters Boris Korchevnikov, Ruslan Ostashko, military correspondents Semyon Pegov, Yuri Kotenok, journalists Pavel Zarubin, Marina Akhmedova, Vadim Takmenev, publicist Nikolai Starikov and others . There are 198 people on the list in total.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky imposed sanctions on Philip Kirkorov, Dmitry Bilan, Irina Allegrova, Basta, Nikita Mikhalkov and others.
