Weinstein sentenced to 16 more years in prison for rape

70-year-old film producer Harvey Weinstein, who is serving a 23-year sentence for sex crimes, received an additional 16 years in prison for rape, writes Variety. This means that the former Hollywood producer will never be able to get out of prison again.

Weinstein was sentenced in downtown Los Angeles two months after a jury found him guilty in yet another rape case. The three charges on which he was convicted – rape, sexual penetration with a foreign object, and forced oral copulation – were filed by a model and actress who claimed the movie mogul assaulted her in a Beverly Hills hotel room in February 2013. The applicant was identified in the case as "Jane Doe Number One", known to be a Russian-born former model.

Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence in New York for similar crimes. He was convicted in early 2020.
