The police of large Russian cities conduct raids on teenagers in search of followers of the PMC Redan subculture – Baza

In St. Petersburg, Kursk, Novosibirsk and Kazan on Sunday, February 26, there were police raids on teenagers. According to Baza, law enforcement officials are looking for representatives of the Redan PMC youth subculture. According to the Telegram channel, they are distinguished by long hair and images of spiders on their clothes.

Baza previously reported that on February 24, more than 30 teenagers were detained in the Moscow Aviapark shopping center and that the raids continued the next day. The reason for them was fights between groups of teenagers in the shopping center. The followers of PMC Redan allegedly participated in these fights. According to Baza, this is a new youth subculture inspired by the Japanese manga Hunter x Hunter, which features the Genei Ryodan, also known as the Phantom Troupe or the Spider, a criminal gang.

The head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, accused the media and social networks of disseminating information about the PMC Redan, which, in her opinion, led to a surge of interest in the movement. “From a local trend in a few days it became an all-Russian one. More than 100 channels appeared in TG alone, no less than them in VK, they instantly gained an audience,” Mizulina wrote, noting that “the media and large media resources (such as large TG channels) should have a direct ban on covering such topics."
