A court in Ukraine sentenced a Russian serviceman (his name was not disclosed), who took away money and phones at a checkpoint during the occupation of the Sumy region, to 10 years in prison under an article on violating the laws and customs of war. It is reported by the Office of the Attorney General.

The commander of the department of military unit 19612 in the 4th Guards Tank Division of Naro-Fominsk, Moscow Region, was at a checkpoint in Trostyanets in March 2022. The city was occupied by the Russian military, he personally checked the cars of residents moving along the streets. The investigation established that the serviceman, threatening with a weapon, took away valuables, money and phones from drivers and passengers. It is known that he took away smartphones and cash from at least three people.

In February, the Kiev regional prosecutor's office identified a Russian soldier who killed a civilian and tried to kill his 14-year-old son in occupied Bucha. He made two aimed shots: first at a man, and then at a minor. The father died in front of the child, the teenager fell to the ground, after which the serviceman shot him in the head area, the bullet hit the hood of the jacket.
