Russia lost five times more soldiers near Bakhmut than Ukraine – NATO intelligence

For every Ukrainian soldier who died defending Bakhmut, NATO intelligence estimates that there are at least five Russian soldiers. This was reported to CNN by a military representative of the North Atlantic Alliance.

However, according to an official who spoke on condition of anonymity, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering significant losses in Bakhmut.

On Sunday, March 5, the city was visited by the commander of the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Alexander Syrsky, Military Media Center reports . According to him, the battles for Bakhmut have reached the highest level of tension. “Our defenders inflicted significant damage on the enemy, destroyed a large amount of equipment, forced Wagner’s best assault units to be thrown into battle and reduced the enemy’s offensive potential,” Syrsky said.

On March 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander. As stated in the official statement following the meeting, the main topic of discussion was the situation around Bakhmut. Both Alexander Syrsky and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny spoke in favor of continuing the defense of the city.
