In Belgorod, FSB officers detained the former mayor of the city, Anton Ivanov, Lantern reports . According to the newspaper, he is suspected of taking bribes on an especially large scale.
Ivanov headed the administration of Belgorod in December 2021, but already in October of the following year, he submitted a letter of resignation. As the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported , "in connection with the transfer to another job." "Lantern" notes that after the resignation, the official disappeared from the public space and did not advertise what he is doing now.
In December, Gladkov remembered Ivanov, saying that he did not fulfill his instructions and did not organize the purchase of bedding for kindergartens.
