In Georgia, a criminal case was opened against a participant in a rally against the law on “foreign agents”

One of the participants in the protests against the law on "foreign agents" in Tbilisi was charged with a criminal case. As stated in the message of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, he is accused of assaulting a policeman.

The message does not name the detainee, it is only reported that he was born in 2001. He faces four to seven years in prison under Article 353.1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Earlier it was reported that 66 people were detained at a protest in Tbilisi on March 7. On March 8, the protesters again went to the parliament building. The Rustaveli project was blocked. The crowd stretched for four blocks. The protesters demand to cancel the law and release those detained at the last action.
