The authorities of Transnistria accused the SBU of attempting to assassinate their leader

The Ministry of State Security of Transnistria, an unrecognized state in Eastern Europe, accused the SBU of organizing an assassination attempt on its leader Vadim Krasnoselsky. According to the prosecutor, the terrorist attack in Transnistria was supposed to take place in the center of Tiraspol: "The criminals counted on a large number of victims and the elimination of the first persons of the republic."

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the unrecognized republic said that the leader of Pridnestrovie is at the workplace, increased security measures have been taken. According to him, active investigative work is underway to identify those involved in the preparation of the terrorist act, and criminal cases have been opened.

Local media published a video of the suspect. The crime (blowing up a car near the motorcade of the head of Transnistria) was supposedly to be committed by a native of Tiraspol, Vyacheslav Kisnichan, who was trained in the SBU, and previously convicted of pimping, robbery and hooliganism.

The Transnistrian authorities will turn to Ukraine today for clarification.

The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic declared independence from Moldavia on September 2, 1990, after the Moldovan Parliament in June 1990 recognized the creation of the Moldavian SSR as "illegal". In July 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie announced the desire of the republic to become part of Russia (Pridnestrovie does not have common borders with Russia, the unrecognized republic borders on Ukraine and Moldova and is located between them).
