Bershka stores (Inditex group) will return to Russia this spring under the Ecru brand. This was reported by TASS with reference to Olga Antonova, head of the retail real estate department at CMWP.
According to the Mash Telegram channel, the rebranding will also affect other Inditex brands: Pull & Bear will become DUB, and Zara will become Maag. They should also open in Russia under new names.
Earlier, the stores of the Inditex group, which left Russia after the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, were bought by the Lebanese company Daher.
Sales in Russia stopped on March 5, 2022 amid the war in Ukraine. At the same time, the company noted that "if in the future Inditex considers that new circumstances allow the group's brands to return to the Russian market, then Inditex and the Daher group will potentially be able to cooperate on the basis of a franchise agreement."
According to Bloomberg, the Daher group is based in the UAE, it is associated with the Lebanese Azadea. Azadea manages the franchises of the Spanish company Inditex in the Middle East.
Earlier, Forbes, citing sources, said that Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear and Stradivarius will work again in Russia under new names.
