Six killed in shooting at Jehovah’s Witnesses church in Hamburg

In Hamburg, there was a shooting in the church of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Gross Borstel district. As a result, at least six people were killed , some media report seven. At least 24 people were injured.

Holger Fehren, spokesman for the Hamburg police, said the shooter himself was among the dead. The department's Twitter says his body was found on one of the top floors of the church. The police adhere to the version according to which the attacker acted alone. The Hamburg police also said that they "have no reliable information about the motives for the crime." According to the website of Jehovah's Witnesses, on Thursday the weekly meeting of parishioners was to be held in the church. According to MOPO, 40 people took part in it.

The Hamburg police have created an information portal where they encourage people to upload photos or videos of events in the church.
