The journalists of the publication "Grati" found an alibi from the Ukrainian human rights activist Maxim Butkevich, who was sentenced by the "courts" of the "LPR" to 13 years in prison. According to the Investigative Committee, on June 4, while in Severodonetsk, he shot at the door of a residential building from an anti-tank grenade launcher, as a result of which two women were wounded. "Gratami" managed to establish that Butkevich arrived in Donbas not earlier than June 14.
According to the publication, until that time the human rights activist was in the area of Kyiv and the Kyiv region. This is indicated by his correspondence with colleagues, which was at the disposal of "Grat". On June 14, Butkevich wrote to them that his unit had been redeployed, and now they were passing through the Poltava region.
“According to my correspondence with Maxim, I have not the slightest doubt that he was not in Severodonetsk on June 4 – he was in touch every day, which is impossible in the conditions of hostilities. Moreover, when his unit was sent on any mission, he warned that he would not be in touch for some time. Which, in fact, happened several times – once in April, and now on June 19, ”sasha Fainberg, a human rights activist, told Gratam.
Butkevich, among other things, is a co-founder of Hromadske Radio. After the outbreak of the war, he went to the front, and at the end of June he was captured in the area of Zolote and Gorny, Lugansk region. Together with him, two Azov fighters, Viktor Pokhozey and Vladislav Sheli, were also convicted . All three were found guilty of mistreating civilians and using prohibited methods in war.
