The FSB reported that it had detained in the Astrakhan region, near the border with Kazakhstan, a resident of Petrozavodsk, who allegedly was going to go to fight on the side of Ukraine. According to the Zvezda TV channel supervised by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the detainee bought medicines and special equipment and found people who were going to help him cross the border. A criminal case was initiated against him under the article on preparation for treason (part 1 of article 30, article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
This is the third detention reported by the security forces on the morning of March 13. The first detainee was a resident of the Novgorod region, who allegedly tried to persuade the mobilized to cooperate with Ukraine and surrender. The second was an activist from Khabarovsk. Allegedly, she donated to the APU.
The first case of detention for financial assistance to the Ukrainian army occurred in early March. The FSB reported that it had detained a resident of Moscow on suspicion of treason.
