“I’m a little crazy. Well, since everyone goes there, why shouldn’t I go too?” Figure skater Sotnikova told how she went to the Donbass

Sochi 2014 Olympic champion Adelina Sotnikova told how she traveled near Lugansk "to support the children" when she was six months pregnant.

“I'm a little crazy. Artists, singers, athletes – everyone goes there to support the people. I think: well, since everyone goes, why don't I go too? It is clear that I was in a position, but because I felt good, I had no problems, I had already begun to agree. Yes, and support the children – the children are not to blame for anything, that everything is happening like this, ”said Sotnikova.

Her mother traveled with Sotnikova to Donbass, the journey took about 20 hours. The figure skater did not hear the arrivals, but her mother heard them. The athlete herself came to a certain sports festival to meet with the children.

“As I said: we didn’t come to cheer them up, but they temper us. In fact, they do not know a quiet life – these are children from 7 to 14 years old. It's easy for me to say, I don't know what they've been through. But I stayed in this skin, you can say – we were there for four or five days. The people there are so kind. Despite what they have going on, they try to smile, they are open.
