Justice Department Lists Free Nations League as ‘Unwanted Organizations’

The Ministry of Justice has included the Lithuanian "League of Free Nations" (Free Nations League) in the list of "undesirable organizations". The message appeared in the department's Telegram channel. The organization was included in the list based on the decision of the First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation dated February 17, 2023.

According to the authorities, the leaders of the organization, who have citizenship of other states and permanently live in Lithuania, Great Britain and Ukraine, "called for the violation of the territorial integrity of Russia and came up with separatist nationalist slogans."

The Free Nations League was created in the summer of 2022. The activists call the decolonization of Russia their goal, they hold actions in support of national movements. The "League of Free Nations" includes representatives of the Bashkirs, Buryats, Cossacks, Kalmyks, Tatars and Erzya.
