The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on violation of safety rules due to an accident on the Moscow metro line, which opened two weeks ago

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on violation of safety rules during the sampling of soil, which led to the suspension of train traffic on the Big Circle Line (BKL) of the Moscow Metro. The accident in question occurred on March 13. BKL was opened on March 1st.

The cause of the accident was a drilling machine that drilled a hole above the subway tunnel between the Michurinsky Prospekt and Aminyevskaya stations. As a result of this, clay and sand were ejected, which stopped the movement of trains. The Donstroy company is responsible for the construction work in which the machine was involved. According to the Moscow mayor's office, she did not coordinate them with the leadership of the metro.

BKL is the tenth line of the Moscow Metro and the world's largest metro construction project. Vladimir Putin said that he would try to show it to Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Moscow. According to Reuters, this should happen in March.
