FT: A letter in defense of Mikhail Fridman was also signed by FBK Executive Director Vladimir Ashurkov

Among those who signed a letter asking to lift EU sanctions against Russian billionaire and co-owner of Alfa Group Mikhail Fridman was FBK Executive Director Vladimir Ashurkov. The Financial Times writes about this after reviewing the text of a letter written in April 2022.

Alfa Group is Ashurkov's previous place of work. Prior to taking a position at FBK, he was director of asset management control for the corporation. He declined to comment to the Financial Times and Meduza.

Thus, Leonid Volkov is not the only FBK employee who signed a letter in support of Fridman to the office of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. Recall that after this became known, Volkov announced that he was leaving the post of chairman of the board of the ACF International fund (the international name of FBK).
