Deputy Stupin said that he was expelled from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation for an anti-war letter, a characterization of Yashin and a vote against Sobyanin’s report

The bureau of the Moscow City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation expelled the deputy of the Moscow City Duma Yevgeny Stupin from the party, his expulsion was "actively lobbied" by the first deputy of Gennady Zyuganov – Yuri Afonin, who personally came to the meeting. Stupin wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

According to the deputy, Afonin gave him three reasons: Stupin's signing on February 24, 2022 of the letter "Socialists and Communists Against the War", providing a positive reference to the criminal case against Ilya Yashin , and voting against the report in the Moscow City Duma of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in 2022.

“Including Zubrilin and Rashkin voted for my exclusion. Against – only Desyatova Tatyana Ivanovna and Tarasov Pavel Mikhailovich. For this bold position, which is worth a lot today, I thank them separately.”

In April 2022, the court sentenced State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Valery Rashkin to three years probation in the case of illegal deer hunting. Rashkin shot an elk in a hunting farm in the Saratov region, without a license to shoot animals. After that, the deputy butchered the carcass and hid it in the trunk of the car. The deputy himself at first claimed that he accidentally found the carcass, but then confessed to the murder.

In September 2022, Stupin was among the deputies who demanded that Russian President Vladimir Putin issue a decree on the end of "partial" mobilization, since officially it is still ongoing, despite all the statements of the authorities. Then the Moscow City Duma refused to register the appeal.
