Putin Appoints Former Deputy Chairman of the LNR Government as Head of Chukotka

Former First Deputy Prime Minister of the so-called "LPR" Vladislav Kuznetsov has been appointed Acting Head of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The corresponding decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin is published on the Kremlin website.

Roman Kopin, who headed Chukotka, was relieved of his post at his own request.

Kopin has been the head of the region for the past 15 years. He replaced businessman Roman Abramovich in July 2008.

In the "LPR" Kuznetsov served as vice-governor of the Kurgan region.
