Ukraine will receive the MiG-29 from Poland, Slovakia and several other countries

Ukraine will soon receive MiG-29 fighter jets from several countries at once, Petr Muller, a spokesman for the Polish government, said, quoted by Bloomberg.

At a press conference, he was asked if the delivery of these aircraft is planned.

According to the spokesman, the details will be announced in due course, decisions are made in the group by several states. Mueller did not disclose the list of countries, referring to the agreements, while their list is already known to him. According to the statement, Poland is also among them:

"We are ready to make a decision in a group of several countries that have decided to take such a step."

Acting Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger, in turn, said in an interview with the SME newspaper that the country's government would decide to send MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine without the consent of parliament. He noted that the government has "enough competencies" to transfer "unused equipment." Previously, it was assumed that the parliament would adopt a resolution to make a decision on supplies.

The day before, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that the country could give Ukraine its MiG-29 fighters in the next four to six weeks. Until last year, Poland had at least 29 such fighters. The US military in March began exploring the possibility of installing Western medium-range air-to-air missiles AIM-120 AMRAAM (Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile) on the MiG-29, Politico reported , citing Pentagon sources.
