Poland will deploy HIMARS systems on the border with Russia

Poland will deploy the first US Himars rocket artillery systems near the border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia, Minister of National Defense of the Republic Mariusz Blaszczak said at a briefing. It is reported by Gazeta Prawna.

By the end of the year, Himars systems will be received by the 16th mechanized division of Poland, located near the border with the Kaliningrad region. In addition to HIMARS, the division's arsenal will be replenished with Korean K2 tanks and K9 self-propelled howitzers.

“Russia seeks to restore its evil empire and attacks its neighbors. Our task is to create strong and reliable forces of the Polish Armed Forces so that Russia does not dare to attack our country,” the minister emphasized.

RZSO HIMARS was ordered by the Polish authorities back in 2019. In total, as part of this application, the United States will supply Poland with 500 such systems.
