The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, promised to pay 5 million rubles for the murder of a participant in a video recording in which a page from the Koran was used to kindle a fire, and 10 million rubles for “taking him alive”.
“For the elimination of this scum, I announce a reward of 5 million rubles. For capture alive – twice as much – 10 million rubles. Whenever it happens – today, tomorrow, in a year, the money will be waiting. And no matter who does it: a platoon, a group, a loner, a neighbor in a trench, the money will be transferred in full,” Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.
On March 16, Kadyrov posted a TikTok video showing people in Ukrainian military uniforms burning a page from the Koran in a fire. TikTok users considered this video to be staged, because the people in the video speak unnaturally, use Russian words, and their faces are not visible in the frame, the Caucasian Knot writes . In the video, a man behind the scenes says: “Boys, can you light a fire?” (in Ukrainian "bonfire" – "bagattya"). After that, he gives them a package of books for kindling, one of the books in the package is the Koran.
Former field commander and Chechen politician Akhmed Zakayev said that he considers this video "a provocation of the Russian special services."
