Nikita Uvarov, defendant in the case of “Kan teenagers”, was found in a prison hospital

In the Kansk educational colony, they said that Nikita Uvarov, a defendant in the case of the “Kan teenagers”, was taken to the KTB-1 prison hospital in Krasnoyarsk, where he is undergoing a “routine eye examination”. This is reported by the Telegram channel "The Case of Kansk Teenagers" with reference to Nikita's mother Anna Uvarova.

On March 16, it became known that 17-year-old Uvarov was taken away from the colony in an unknown direction. His mother and lawyer learned about this from NGS24 journalists who came to the colony to interview the teenager. The meeting was scheduled for March 16, and, according to the publication, the correspondents asked the GUFSIN for permission for five months. When the journalists arrived at the colony, they were offered to see the conditions in which other prisoners live.

Nikita Uvarov was sentenced to five years in prison in February 2022. He was accused of undergoing training in order to carry out terrorist activities. Uvarov and two other 14-year-olds from Kansk were detained in June 2020 while putting up leaflets in support of political prisoners and criticizing the state. One of the leaflets was pasted on the FSB building, which was the reason for the persecution.

The teenagers were detained by the FSB, two of them were forced under pressure to write a statement about preparing for "terrorist activities." A criminal case was opened under article 205.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities."

Krasnoyarsk Regional Tuberculosis Hospital is the largest medical institution for prisoners in the region. Most patients come there for treatment. However, in the same hospital there are isolated areas where prisoners who are objectionable to the leadership of the Krasnoyarsk department of the Federal Penitentiary Service are beaten, tortured and broken with the help of punitive psychiatry.
