Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) Sergey Bazavluk left his post. This was reported on the website of the university.
The post of Bazavluk was taken by Mikhail Katsarsky, who worked for eight years in the Federation Council.
At the end of February, an exhibition of compatriotic organizations of the university was held in the main building of the RUDN University, where students hung out the flags of Ukraine.
After that, the Ministry of Education and Science appointed an official check, and the deputy head of the department, Konstantin Mogilevsky, called it “unacceptable” to hang the flags of “a state headed by a neo-Nazi regime.”
The RUDN Student Council later released a statement. “The reaction that this event caused does not generate any emotions other than horror and incomprehension,” it said. – Why hostility and claims to each other? We must stick together to prove to the whole world and to all of us that strength is in unity, strength is in friendship.”
