Muscovite Yury Samoilov, who was reported by metro passengers , was arrested for 14 days because of the image of the chevron of the Ukrainian Azov regiment on the phone screen saver (20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This is stated in the decision of the Cheryomushkinsky District Court of Moscow, which drew the attention of Mediazona.
The document states that denunciations against Samoilov were written by three passengers. One of them said that he saw a “swastika” on the man’s phone, which he allegedly showed for “one minute.”
Samoilov explained in court that at first he was neutral about the war in Ukraine, but changed his attitude after watching the YouTube channels of Michael Nucky and the Ukrainian Russian-language TV channel FREEDOM. After that, he began to publish anti-war videos on his Odnoklassniki page. He put a headband with the “Azov” chevron “in order to protest against the special military operation.”
