Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska filed a lawsuit for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation against the head of the investigation department of Alexei Navalny's team, Maria Pevchikh. This is reported by RIA Novosti and TASS with reference to court materials.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled for June 1, 2023, other details were not disclosed.
Deripaska's spokesman Alexei Melnikov clarified in an interview with TASS that the application was filed due to "the publication of false information about participation in the loans-for-shares auctions and the demand for its refutation."
In August 2022, Deripaska filed a lawsuit in the Zelenogradsky District Court against Navalny, Maria Pevchikh, Georgy Alburov, who is in the colony, as well as The Insider and New Lines, because of an investigation into the oligarch's connections with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. He also demanded to remove the photo with Lavrov and the escort, made in Japan, and to destroy the references to the connection with the American political strategist Paul Manafort. Deripaska claimed a penalty for each day of non-compliance with the court decision if it is taken in his favor.
