The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine confiscated the Ukrainian assets of a Russian oligarch, his son and two other Russian citizens. As reported on the website of the court, we are talking about Avangard-Vilarti LLC, as well as 66.65% of the Lebed Investment Union company.
It is noted that the owners of Avangard-Vilarti are Ocean Plaza Project (Cyprus) Limited and Ethoder Investments Limited. Lebed Investment Union, in turn, is owned by Avangard-Vilarti and is the owner of the Ocean Plaza shopping center in Kyiv.
The court statement does not name the Russians whose property was confiscated. Earlier, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine reported that the listed assets belong to Arkady Rotenberg, his son Igor and their business partners: Oleksandr Skorobogatko and Oleksandr Ponomarenko. All of them were included in the sanctions list by the Ukrainian authorities.
Arkady Rotenberg was also mentioned by the head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction David Arakhamia, commenting on the court decision on his Telegram channel. “The property of a close friend of [Vladimir] Putin will become the property of the state and will be transferred to the management of the State Property Fund. We warned that Russian oligarchs would pay for crimes against Ukraine,” the deputy wrote.
Suspilne clarifies that Ocean Plaza has suspended operations after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The doors of the shopping center reopened at the end of November.
