A fire broke out at a motor plant in Yaroslavl. This is one of the largest manufacturers of engines for the equipment of the Russian army.

At the Yaroslavl Motor Plant in Yaroslavl, a production workshop caught fire, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies in the region.

Information about the fire was received at 13:25 Moscow time. Later, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation announced the localization of the fire.

“On Oktyabrya Avenue, house 75, there is black thick smoke in a three-story office building. There was a burning of transformer oil on an area of ​​30 m². The fire has been contained," the press release says.

Seven people were rescued from the building, and another 218 employees evacuated on their own. 15 pieces of equipment and 52 people were involved in the elimination of the fire.

The plant's products are diesel power units, diesel power units and capped power plants. YaMZ is one of the largest manufacturers of engines for the equipment of the Russian army. It also produces engines for the Topol-M nuclear missile system.
