A resident of Chuvashia opened a criminal case because of the infection of local residents with anthrax

The Investigative Committee of Chuvashiaopened a criminal case under the article on violation of veterinary rules against a resident of the village of Staroe Aktashevo, who slaughtered a bull-calf infected with anthrax for meat. After that, at least three people in the village became infected with this infection.

“Anthrax infection was received by a neighbor of the suspect, who participated in the slaughter of a bull, his wife, as well as another resident of the above settlement,” the IC said in a statement.

According to the investigation, the owner of the bull did not show the animals for examination to the veterinarian and did not give them preventive vaccinations.

Anthrax is a particularly dangerous infectious disease of agricultural and wild animals of all kinds, as well as humans. It is characterized by intoxication, the development of serous-hemorrhagic inflammation of the skin, lymph nodes and internal organs.
