During March, the police twice came to the apartment of the author and editor of the People of Baikal publication Olga Mutovina in Irkutsk. This was reported by another author of "People" Elena Trifonova in the mailing list of the publication.
According to her, the first visit took place after People of Baikal published a video with Russian conscripts. In them, the military say that they were promised to be sent to the LDNR territorial defense, but instead, assault brigades were formed from the mobilized. Also, according to the military, commanders from the “DPR” shoot at them for refusing to fight, and the corpses of their colleagues are not taken out of the battlefield.
“The police come to Olya’s house, make sure that the door is closed, then go to the neighbors. They ask: when was Olya last seen, where are her husband and children. They said, “I wrote some bullshit. The FSB is interested. We'll find it – we'll plant it." The neighbors are shocked. When something happens to them and they have to call the police, it is impossible to wait for them. And here they go and go in crowds. We all understand. The task of the authorities is to make sure that not a single dissatisfied voice breaks through. Especially if it’s a voice from the front, because you can’t help but believe it, ”writes Trifonova. She stressed that most of the editorial staff is not located in Russia, including Mutovina.
The Insider wrote about the complaints of those mobilized from Irkutsk. They said that for any offense they were threatened to be thrown to the front line, despite the lack of training. In addition, they are sent on the offensive even if it threatens to end with imminent death.
