A criminal case has been opened in Moscow for spreading “fakes” about the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against a participant in a Radio Liberty street poll. Vot Tak, citing a source in law enforcement agencies , writes that investigators found the video on the publication’s Telegram channel.
According to investigators, a 37-year-old man reported "deliberately false information" about the genocide of civilians in Bucha. The plot of the case emphasizes that according to the official version of the Russian Ministry of Defense, “photos and video materials published by the Kyiv regime” about the events in the Ukrainian city “are a provocation.” The video in question was filmed at the entrance to the VDNKh metro station. A man who has been charged with a criminal case answers a journalist's question about whether détente is needed in relations between Russia and NATO:
“Detention is needed, of course. But everything depends on Putin and his government. This is our government unleashed: Putin and his gop-company. <…> I don't see any problems in NATO at all. <…> Our government said that it wanted to fight the nationalists, but bombed shopping centers, in Bucha – civilians. Our military from Buryatia, Dagestan shot [peaceful] for no reason at all. And people start hating the whole thing.”
"That's So" contacted the man. He said that he did not want to talk about the criminal case, so as not to spoil his mood. According to him, the security forces have not yet contacted him: “It seems to me that this is a common thing for Russia. There are already many people under such articles, in every city, probably, there will be. While I'm not worried, while silence. Wait and see. I haven’t looked for a lawyer yet – it seems to me that in our country you can not do this – the result is already clear.”
This is the second time that the security forces are pursuing participants in a street poll. At the end of January, it became known that two residents of Moscow, who starred in the Deutsche Welle video, were being checked for “discrediting” the Russian one. Survey participants were asked how they feel about increased military assistance to Ukraine from Western countries.
