At least 23 people were killed, dozens were injured and four were missing as a result of a tornado that hit Mississippi on March 24 in the evening, according to CNN.
Local authorities said the hurricane blew roofs off houses and nearly leveled some neighborhoods to the ground. The city of Rolling Fork in the southwestern United States was the most affected by the tornado. There may still be people under the rubble. Rolling Fork Mayor Eldridge Walker declared that his town was "no more".
The city of Silver City and small towns were also seriously affected. After the passage of the tornado in the state, there were heavy rains and hail. Three states at once – Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi – faced power outages. Power went out to more than 83,000 homes and businesses.
