Ukraine not yet ready to launch counteroffensive due to lack of weapons and ammunition – Zelensky

The Ukrainian military cannot yet launch a counteroffensive, as they lack weapons and ammunition. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Japanese publication Yomiuri Shimbun.

According to him, the shortage of ammunition has a particularly strong effect on the situation in eastern Ukraine. Zelensky stressed that the Russian military spends three times more ammunition daily than the Ukrainian ones. Now Ukraine is waiting for supplies from its partners. “If you have the political will, you can help us. We are at war and cannot wait,” Zelensky said.

While Ukraine itself is not yet talking about launching a counteroffensive, the Kremlin, according to Bloomberg, has already focused on containing it. According to sources of the publication, Russia plans to send 400,000 contract soldiers to the war.
