Russian commander Lissitzky, one of the organizers of the Ilovaisky Cauldron, died in 2014

Ukrainian media and military bloggers reported the death of the commander of the 1st battalion of the 247th airborne assault regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, the hero of Russia Dmitry Lissitzky, who was one of the organizers of the Ilovaisky Cauldron in August-September 2014, when the Russian Armed Forces took part in battles against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. His death was reported on March 26 by Yegor Gouzenko, a military blogger who served under Lissitzky. Also, information about Lissitzky was published by the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian portal Censor.net Yuriy Butusov. On the morning of March 27, Ksenia Sobchak's Telegram channel "The Bloody Lady" reported that Lieutenant Colonel Lissitzky actually committed suicide using a hunting rifle in his apartment in Stavropol, and was not "liquidated" in the "special operation" zone.

Colleagues claim that recently Lissitzky was depressed and talked about suicide, presumably "because of a complaint about his misconduct against personnel." The death of a lieutenant colonel without specifying a reason was confirmed to the channel by the head of the Blagodarnensky urban district of the Stavropol Territory, Alexander Tenkov.

Lissitzky participated in almost all military operations launched by Russia, including in battles in Abkhazia (in 1993 and 2008), Dagestan (in 1999), Chechnya (in 1999-2000, 2001-2004), notes the Heroes of the Country project ". As part of the UN peacekeeping mission, he fought in Bosnia and Herzegovina (in 2000-2001). In 2014, Lissitzky "provided security" for the Olympic Games in Sochi.

Ukrainian media draw attention to the fact that Lissitzky commanded a battalion tactical group of the 247th regiment, which in 2014 attacked units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Ilovaisk. According to the Verkhovna Rada, then up to a thousand people from the Armed Forces of Ukraine died. About 360 people died in the "DPR", on the side of which the Russian Federation fought.

Lissitzky was born in the village of Burlatskoye, Stavropol Territory, on November 27, 1974. He graduated with honors from the Stavropol State Agricultural Academy in 1998, was a zoo engineer and marketing engineer. At the age of 19 he began his service, in 1993 he went to the first hot spot – to Abkhazia. Lissitzky was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, second degree, and the Suvorov medal.

On May 24, it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine killed Major General Kanamat Botashev, who was performing a combat mission on a Su-25 aircraft. Information about the death of the pilot was confirmed to the BBC by three former subordinates of Botashev, who kept in touch with him after the end of the service.
