Twitter recommendations will only show posts from paid accounts – Musk

The "For You" Twitter feed will only show tweets from verified accounts with a blue checkmark, which now require monthly payments. Also, only paid accounts will be able to vote in polls. On April 15, the head of Twitter, Elon Musk, announced the changes.

Messages from free accounts will not be included in the feed. The blue tick is currently $7 per month.

According to Musk, the new rules are the only effective way to deal with bots that use artificial intelligence. According to him, for the same reason, verification will be needed to participate in voting.

In November 2022, Reuters reported that Twitter would not sell verification tokens to users, as fake accounts began to massively buy them. After the innovation with a paid subscription for $ 8 per month, even more fake profiles appeared on the social network.

Musk took over Twitter on October 28, when CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Segal left the company. Musk said he acquired the company because he wants to maintain a secure platform for online communication. In one of the first letters, he banned employees from working remotely.
