One of the world’s largest grain suppliers will stop exporting from Russia

The Russian branch of the American corporation Cargill will stop exporting grain from Russia in the next agricultural year. RBC writes about this with reference to a document that the company sent to Oksana Lut, deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The next agricultural year will start on July 1, 2023 and run until June 30, 2024. The document states that Cargill will stop exporting grain to Russia "in accordance with the earlier discussion on grain exports and the recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture." At the same time, all shipments scheduled for this season will be completed. Also, the Russian branch of Cargill is beginning to review its portfolio of assets related to the export of grain.

Cargill ranks sixth in the top Russian grain exporters. RBC, citing a grain market participant, writes that this season the company will export about 2.2 million tons, or about 4% of all Russian grain exports.
