Liya Akhedzhakova wrote a letter of resignation from the Sovremennik Theater. All her performances were removed from the repertoire

Liya Akhedzhakova said that on March 10 she wrote a letter of resignation from the Sovremennik Theater – of her own free will. This is reported by Novaya Gazeta.

Now the actress is planning to go on tour. According to Novaya Gazeta, recently in Cyprus she played in a play based on the play by Lyudmila Ulitskaya “My grandson Benjamin”, which was banned in Russia.

In February, the play "The Gin Game", in which Liya Akhedzhakova played the main role, was removed from the repertoire of the Sovremennik Theater. Akhedzhakova said that then the director of the theater Yuri Kravets called her and said that he was forced to withdraw this performance, since he was “filled up with angry letters” addressed to the artist.

The play "First Bread", where the artist also played a major role, was removed from the repertoire last year.
