The Tushinsky District Court of Moscow suspended the work of the Anglo-American School for 90 days. The reason was that the institution allegedly violated the requirements for conducting general educational activities (part 3 of article 19.20 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
According to Kommersant, on February 28, the prosecutor's office conducted an inspection at the school. During it, it turned out that additional training was developed there on the basis of the International Baccalaureate study programs and the educational standards of the Common Core State Standard (US standards). In addition, teachers allegedly worked at the school without documents on education and the necessary qualifications.
The Anglo-American School was founded in 1949 by the governments of the United States, Great Britain and Canada. As Mediazona writes , children of diplomats and businessmen study there, among other things. According to Kommersant, only a fifth of the students are native Russian speakers.
