The Efremov Interdistrict Court of the Tula Region, which was supposed to consider the claim of the commission on juvenile affairs today to restrict the parental rights of Alexei Moskalev, convicted of "discrediting" the army, postponed the consideration until April 20. According to OVD-Info, the court made such a decision because it could not establish the whereabouts of Moskalev, and sent a request to the Federal Penitentiary Service with instructions to ensure his participation in the process.
After the man was detained in Minsk on March 30, nothing is known about his fate.
Lawyer Vladimir Bilienko, representing the interests of Moskalev, said that the judge refused to hand over the letter that he wrote to his daughter Masha. The father gave this note to the lawyer even before the verdict, but the staff of the shelter where the girl was kept did not allow the lawyer to meet with her. The text of the letter was published by human rights activists from OVD-info:
“Mashenka, your dad is writing to you. Hold on, please, people are now thinking how to help you. Listen to my lawyer Vladimir Vladimirovich. Now a lot of people are working on our issue. If one of our relatives wants to take custody of you, agree, it's better than being in an orphanage. The lawyer will advise you. If they bring you to court, ask your dad, ask the judge strongly. Your dad".
As Sirena reported , a group of people gathered outside the courthouse expressing support for Moskalev and his daughter Masha. OVD-info writes that the police detained activist Lena Tarbayeva, who came to court with a poster "Putin eats children." A protocol was drawn up against her about the "discrediting" of the army.
The day before, Maria Lvova-Belova*, Commissioner for Children's Rights, reported that Masha Moskaleva's mother took the girl from the social rehabilitation center. Since Olga Sitchikhina is not limited in her parental rights, it was enough for her to terminate the agreement on "temporary placement of the child in an institution." According to Lvova-Belova, at first the girl did not want to live with her mother, but then she changed her mind.
Masha, who lived with her father, was sent to an orphanage after Alexei Moskalev was placed under house arrest in early March. The mother offered to take the girl, but she preferred to send the child to a social rehabilitation center. Earlier, Lvova-Belova stated that both parents of Masha would be limited in their rights, and a substitute family would be found for the girl.
On March 28, a court in Efremovsk sentenced Aleksey Moskalev to two years in prison for repeatedly “discrediting” the army. On the eve of the verdict, he escaped from arrest, but two days later he was detained in Minsk.
* The International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Lvova-Belova on charges of kidnapping Ukrainian children.
