Foreign Ministry: Moskalev, detained in Minsk after escaping, is in a pre-trial detention center in Belarus

Aleksei Moskalev, convicted in the case of “discrediting” the army, who was detained in Minsk after escaping, is in a pre-trial detention center in the Belarusian city of Zhodino. This is reported by the Daily Storm with reference to the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“As of April 4 this year, this citizen was transferred to the pre-trial detention center in the city of Zhodino, where he is awaiting a decision on deportation. It is assumed that A.V. Moskalev will be transferred to the Russian Federation to serve his sentence on the basis of a decision previously issued by the Efremov Interdistrict Court of the Tula Region, ”the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

At the end of March, a court in the Tula region sentenced 53-year-old Moskalev to two years in prison in the case of “discrediting” the army. Moskalev himself was not at the meeting, later it became known that he had escaped from house arrest.

Two days later, Moskalev's lawyer reported that on the night of March 29, he was detained in Minsk.

Since March 2, Moskalev was under house arrest, his daughter Masha was taken to an orphanage and refused to be given to her father. On April 5, Masha Moskaleva was taken from the shelter by her mother Olga Sitchikhina.

On April 6, a court hearing was to be held to restrict Moskalev's parental rights, but the judge decided to postpone the decision on this issue, since Moskalev himself could not be taken to the meeting.

A lawyer from the Pen & Paper bar in an interview with The Insider explained that the restriction of parental rights is a milder measure than the deprivation of parental rights, and allows communication between the parent and the child. Read more about it here .
