The prosecutor's office requested 19 years in prison for those accused of setting fire to a military registration table in Bakal (Chelyabinsk region). We are talking about Roman Nasryev and Aleksey Nuriev, reports the "Solidarity Zone".
They are accused of "committing a terrorist act" and "undertaking training for the purpose of committing terrorist activities."
Solidarity Zone clarifies that one of the defendants in the case, Nasryev, had previously pleaded guilty to committing arson, but denied charges of terrorism, separately noting that he had not undergone “training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities.”
Here is how Nasryev explained his act at the previous court session:
“I knew that actions were taking place across the country, during which military registration and enlistment offices were set on fire. I knew that no one was hurt as a result of these actions. <…> . From conversations with others, I concluded for myself that such actions do not cause fear among the people, since no one has ever suffered as a result of them. Moreover, people are sympathetic to such a position of disagreement. Considering all of the above, I also decided to make a similar action, as I did not agree with the mobilization, the special military operation and the war in general. With my action, I just wanted to show that in our city there is disagreement with mobilization and a special military operation. I wanted to convey my position of disagreement in this way, I wanted my voice to be heard.
