Those liable for military service, subject to conscription and working abroad, are advised to take a vacation for a year and return to Russia for military service. This was stated to RBC by the head of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov.
“If he is subject to conscription, then I would recommend that he then take a vacation for a year, serve in the armed forces, pay his debt to the Motherland. And go back abroad, happy to work there,” said Kartapolov.
He also added that those liable for military service who are not subject to conscription and working abroad can “send the relevant documents electronically to the military commissariat.”
“Either, being on vacation in Russia – I hope that normal people spend all their vacations in Russia, even if they live and work abroad for a long time – come to the military enlistment office, present the necessary documents and calmly go to work further,” said Kartapolov.
On April 11, the State Duma adopted in three readings at once a law on the register of persons liable for military service, including clauses on electronic subpoenas and liability for "avoiding" conscripts.
According to the new document, the subpoenas will not only be delivered to homes and handed over, catching people on the streets, but now they can be sent electronically and by registered mail. In addition, a unified register of persons liable for military service will be created, so even the absence of an account on the State Services will not help to avoid receiving a summons: the summons sent to you is considered automatically delivered after seven days. The main part of the new law is in the analysis of The Insider.
