A batch of plush Cheburashkas was confiscated from a Chinese citizen at customs in Ussuriysk. According to the Russian Federal Customs Service, almost 1,200 toys were packed into seven 10 kg bags.
The man arrived in Russia by bus and attracted the attention of customs officers with extensive luggage. He said that he was taking the goods to a friend who plans to sell Cheburashkas on the market. The goods were seized, the Chinese citizen faces a fine.
It is clarified that the right holder demanded to hold the carrier liable. The rights to the cartoon character Cheburashka belong to Soyuzmultfilm.
