Sofia Sapieha, convicted in Belarus, agreed to be extradited to Russia

Russian Sofya Sapega, sentenced in Belarus to 6 years for administering a Telegram channel, agreed to be extradited from Belarus to Russia. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the press secretary of the Russian Embassy Alexei Maskalev.

Earlier it was reported that the parents of Sofya Sapega filed a petition with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for her transfer to a Russian colony.

On April 3, the procedure for her transfer to Russia was launched in Belarus.

In mid-March, Sapega was included in the Belarusian list of persons involved in terrorism. In January, she was denied a pardon because her case "did not meet all the necessary criteria."

On May 6, a court in Belarus sentenced Sapieha to 6 years in prison. She was found guilty, among other things, of illegally collecting and disseminating "information about private life constituting the personal and family secret of another person, without his consent, which caused harm to the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of the victim."
