Roskomnadzor withdrew registration from Kozapress, the owner of which committed self-immolation

Roskomnadzor has decided to revoke the registration of the Nizhny Novgorod publication Kozapress, Sergei Babinets, head of the Team Against Torture, said.

The publication belonged to journalist Irina Slavina, who died in 2020 after committing self-immolation. After that, Kozapress passed to her daughter Margarita Murakhtaeva. The site has been updated since 2021.

Margarita stated back in 2021 that she intended to close the publication:

“I, as the daughter of Irina Slavina, made a decision. It's not an easy decision, but I think it's the only right one. Release the "Goat" on the rainbow. To your mistress. To my mother."
