Officers of the border department of the FSB detained a Russian in the Bryansk region who allegedly wanted to cross the border and join the Russian Volunteer Corps in order to fight on the side of Ukraine, ASTRA reports . According to sources of the publication, this is a 23-year-old resident of Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region, Petr Kolistratov.
He was detained on April 14 in the village of Ponurovka, on the same day a criminal case was initiated on preparations for illegal border crossing (322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Kolistratov allegedly confessed during interrogation that he had filled out a form to join the "RDK" and was ordered to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office in Novoshakhtinsk, which he did on December 10. Then he allegedly received instructions on how to leave Russia through Kazakhstan, but decided to go through the Bryansk region.
The "Russian Volunteer Corps" as part of the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine was formed mainly from Russian emigrants. The corps claimed responsibility for the attack on the Bryansk region on March 2, during which a local resident was killed and several others were wounded. In early April, a court in Moscow arrested in absentia Denis Kapustin (Nikitin), who is called the commander of the "RDK".
The FSB also stated that Kapustin was preparing an assassination attempt on the founder of the Tsargrad TV channel, Konstantin Malofeev.
