The Ministry of Transport of Russia predicted an increase in the cost of air tickets by 15-30%. According to the deputy head of the department, Igor Chalik, the reason for the increase in prices is the lack of a decision by the authorities on the issue of subsidizing transportation in the summer season.
Chalik said that this year the Russian authorities have not yet approved the allocation of subsidies by analogy with 2022. Then their amount was 100 billion rubles. “In this regard, we expect a possible increase in the cost of transportation by about 15 to 30%. Accordingly, it is possible that there will be a decrease in the number of flights," the deputy head of the Ministry of Transport said.
Earlier it was reported that the authorities require airlines to reserve tickets for summer holidays for the military who returned from Ukraine. Carriers are asked to make a list of routes on which they can allocate 5-6 seats. At the same time, there was no talk of the possibility of paying compensation to airlines. According to Elena Sakhnova, an analyst at My Investments, if such an initiative is implemented, they will lose from 300 million to 700 million rubles a month.
