RIA Novosti: Federation Council will not publish information on senators’ declarations, even in a “generalized” form

The Federation Council has decided not to publish any information on the incomes and expenses of senators for the past year; there is not even generalized information on declarations on the website of the chamber. This information was confirmed to RIA Novosti by a source in the Federation Council. “Nothing will happen,” he said.

At the end of January, the State Duma adopted a law on classifying the income and property of deputies and senators. In February, the law was signed by President Vladimir Putin. The law assumed that only "generalized statistical information" about whether deputies and senators provided the necessary information would be published, without personal data.

Earlier, Vedomosti, citing sources, reported that they did not plan to publish “generalized information” on income for 2022. According to a source in the Kremlin, both houses of parliament will decide on the publication "at will".

The interlocutor in the apparatus of the State Duma also confirmed to the newspaper that the deputies have no plans to publish information on income, even in a generalized form. According to him, this applies to everyone, not just those who were sent to the war zone in Ukraine.

The source of the publication in the State Duma explained that generalized information on the income of deputies will need to be published only when Putin’s decree ceases to be valid, which allows not to disclose any information about income during the period of the “special operation”.
